Egypt's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has taken a significant step toward formalising a strategic technology partnership with Intel Corporation, with both sides agreeing to prepare a memorandum of understanding covering cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital capacity building, and advanced infrastructure technologies.
The agreement in principle emerged from a meeting on April 27, 2026, between Raafat Hindy, Egypt's Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Taha Khalifa, General Manager for Middle East and Africa at Intel Corporation.
What the MOU Will Cover
According to Egypt's State Information Service, the forthcoming MOU is expected to serve as a framework for collaboration across several priority areas.
Cybersecurity training and workforce development is the first pillar. Intel will offer specialised training programmes targeting government employees and executive leadership, with a focus on cybersecurity, AI, and advanced infrastructure technologies.
